How lucky can we be? Chip Kelly has been running the Spread Offense at Oregon for five years and I just set up the video tutorials about the basics of the Oregon Offense just this last summer in preparation for this year. The Spread Offense has become a staple of college football, and defenses are getting better in their counter-strategies, including against Oregon. The very year that I’m beginning to chronicle the Chip Kelly Offense, is the year that his offense is undergoing significant changes for us to discuss?
I cannot believe our timing, our luck, to have the video tutorials done in advance in order to compare the fundamentals of the last five years of the Chip Kelly Spread Offense in the tutorials, to the changes occurring. We are witness to a great Spread Offense Laboratory unfolding in Autzen Stadium, and I count myself very lucky to be in the “room” as the new ingredients are being added. Opposing coaches can’t have all the fun noticing the changes!
“Oh how love to learn about our beloved Ducks!”
