DL Jaynard Bostwick (4-Star/Port St. Lucie, FL/Rivals250)

Landing a marquee 2013 defensive line prospect gained new significance for Oregon with Eddie Vanderdoes(4-Star/Placer, CA/Rivals100) decision to become a “Kiffin-lackey.” With that door closed, the Ducks may look cross-country to now address their needs in the trenches.

Mammoth defensive force Jaynard Bostwick (4-Star/Port St. Lucie, FL/Rivals250) considers Oregon the only program outside his home state “that I really want an offer from.” At 6’4″, 290 lbs., Bostwick indicated that “my burst off the ball and my agility as a defensive lineman” have caught the attention of Oregon coaches, and an official visit sometime during the 2012 season is very much in the realm of possibility.

Fellow southwest recruit Juwaan Williams (3-Star/Tucker, GA) recently confirmed his intention to also visit Eugene, during the first week of October. The 6’0″, 181 lb. jack-of-all-positions will no doubt witness another Oregon beat down of our “northern neighbor puppies” and get a first-hand look at how Kelly & Co. could utilize his athleticism should he make the smart choice in becoming a Duck. “Oregon is a great school. Their high-powered offense gives every player on the field an opportunity to get their hands on the ball and score,” said Williams.

Local talent Mike Ralston (NR/Eugene, OR), and West Coast linebackers David Moffitt (3-Star/Concord, CA), and Marshaun Daniel (NR/Tustin, CA) share a similarity; all three prospects are heavily interested in donning Lightning Yellow and Thunder Green. Or gunmetal black, or chartreuse, or whatever else Nike may have in store for the Ducks this year.

Ralston, a 6’5″, 235 lb. tight end who traded Jesuit for Sheldon this upcoming prep season, noted “Oregon is where I have wanted to go ever since I was little.” Down the coast, Moffitt and Daniel both could find themselves manning the second level for Defensive Coordinator Nick Allioti. “(Oregon) really takes care of their players… they know how to win,” said the 6’2″, 205 lb. Moffitt.

Echoing his sentiments was Daniel, shorter but nonetheless athletic at 5’11”, 205 lbs. “Oregon has always been one of my favorite schools (to watch) growing up,” he said, “I started liking their uniforms when I was younger and now I would consider myself to be a pretty big Oregon fan.”

New 2024 FishDuck Publishing Schedule….

During the off-season the FishDuck.com publishing schedule will consist of articles on Mondays and Tuesdays. Do keep checking as new articles could be published during the week when a writer has something to say.

In mid-August of 2024, we will go back to the seven-days-a-week of articles during the football season as we did in the football season of 2023.

The Our Beloved Ducks Forum (OBD) is where we we discuss the article above and many more topics, as it is so much easier in a message board format over there.  At the free OBD forum we will be posting Oregon Sports article links, the daily Press Releases from the Athletic Department and the news coming out every day.

Our 33 rules at the free OBD Forum can be summarized to this: 1) be polite and respectful, 2) do not tell anyone what to think, feel or write, and 3) no reference of any kind to politics. Easy-peasy!

OBD Forum members….we got your back.  No Trolls Allowed!
