At The Free Throw Line: Young Guys Step Up, What Up Woods?

At The Free Throw Line is a new feature of IZR. Here we will recap Ducks basketball — the things the Ducks are doing well or going in the Ducks’ favor (FT Made), and the things not going the Ducks’ way or things in need of improvement (FT Missed).

FT Made: Oregon’s bench. In the game against the Runnin’ Rebels, Tony Woods and E.J. Singler had fouled out of the game, and the Ducks’ youngsters stepped up and delivered the win. It was a fantastic effort against a ranked team on their home court. This team is still learning to gel and work together, but you couldn’t help but really like their effort away from Matt Court.

FT Missed: Tony Woods. Woods fouled out in their first match against UNLV. Then, against Cincinatti he picked up 4 quick fouls in the first half and was never really a factor in the game, and was on the bench while the Ducks whittled at a 19 point decficit. The Ducks need Woods’ post play, and Woods will need to play more disciplined basketball than we saw in Las Vegas last weekend.
