11/7 Practice Report

Injury updates:

The “big three” snuck out the side door again today:

Heimuli came out to talk to media shortly after:

Remington was spotted leaving the Cas as well.

Dion Jordan’s status is still up in the air. He’ll probably be used sparingly on Saturday, if at all.

Other tidbits:

  • Chip Kelly noted that Oregon is preparing for both QB’s Cal can throw out there. Maynard (recovering from injury) is more mobile, while Allan Bridgford is a more polished passer. A product of Mission Viejo High School (the notorious QB factory in Southern California), Bridgford will get his first reps with the starters this week. Oregon has faced Bridgford in the second half of last year’s Thursday Night Matchup.
  • Apparently play-calling doesn’t change as running backs rotate.
  • Tyler Johnstone says that Cal has a very confusing defensive front, as their 3-4 scheme can attack you from many different angles. Hopefully the backfield is also ready to face a Cover-0 scheme, a la 2010.
  • With the defensive line recovering from injuries, their numbers are starting to thin up front. While some of his teammates might not even know his name, Alex Balducci is the next guy up.
