The Oregon Ducks passed their first big test of the season last night. After a hard fought battle that lasted the entire game, the Ducks walked away with a 83-79 victory. UNLV jumped out to an early 9-2 lead, but the Ducks never gave up.
A big reason Oregon won was the play of freshman Damyean Dotson who dominated the last 5 minutes of the game. Dotson lead all Ducks with 19 points. Three other Ducks scored in double digits. Carlos Emory had 16 points, Ben Carter with 12, and Dominic Artis adding another 11 points.
Oregon is now 5-0 for the first time since 2006. After beating a top 25 team, the Ducks will possibly get some consideration to be ranked themselves.
Oregon faces off against #22 Cincinnati tonight at 7:30pm PST in the Global Sports Classic Championship game. The game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
