While Oregon fans’ attention should be focused on the hardwood, it’s worth noting that there is another nationally ranked team starting its preparation for the season today.
Ranked as highly as sixth in the preseason polls, the Ducks are coming off a school record 46 win season and are looking to advance past the super regional this time around.
If Oregon wants to reach the College World Series, they’ll need to rely heavily on their experienced players, and luckily Oregon returns seven position player starters, four pitchers, and an All-American closer in Jimmie Sherfy. The road to the postseason will be challenging yet again, as the PAC-12 boasts six top-20 teams (tied with the SEC for most out of any conference).
Stay tuned on FishDuck.com for a more detailed preview of the 2013 Oregon baseball team, the PAC-12 Conference, and the rest of the nation.
