We all love our Ducks, but it doesn’t always show up when our football team hits the road — especially for bowl games. This year, Kansas State needed more tickets within a week or two while Oregon fans can STILL buy tickets from the GoDucks.com website. I understand that many people don’t have the money to travel all the way to Glendale, let alone pay several hundred dollars for a ticket, but it is disconcerting to see tickets still available for a BCS Bowl game that is less than thirty hours away.
I understand that many people have a beef with the school’s ticket office increasing prices yearly and might be using other sites like Stubhub to purchase tickets. Fans attending the Rose Bowl last year found themselves outnumbered somewhere close to three-to-one by a team hundreds of miles further away. With the Cowboy Classic the ratio was closer to four or five-to-one. One must acknowledge the idea that the statements of “enough is enough” have merit, however here at home Autzen Stadium has sold out 89 straight games, so it’s completely baffling that Bowl games and games against the almighty SEC can’t sell out.
