Oregon looks to take the Sun out of the Devils

The biggest story line to me in this game will be Freshman vs Freshman; Jahii Carson vs Dominic Artis.  Jahii Carson, the Sun Devils’ star freshman, is averaging 16.9 points, 5.3 assists, and 3 rebounds per game.  The Ducks’ Dominic Artis is averaging 10.1 points, 3.6 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 2 steals per game.

Dominic Artis has played great defense throughout the season and he will be critical to the Ducks overcoming the Sun Devils tonight.  If he can make Carson an afterthought, Oregon should easily overcome Arizona State.  Jonathon Lloyd should also see some game time guarding Carson — recall he has had huge steals late in the last two games to help pull off the wins.

Another piece to the puzzle will be how Oregon deals with Senior Carrick Felix, who is averaging 15.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.  Based on his size, he will probably be guarded by either Damyean Dotson or Carlos Emory.  If Oregon can shut both Carson and Carrick down and continue to crash the boards, another win at Matthew Knight Arena and a top 25 ranking should be imminent.

To watch the game, tune into the PAC-12 Network at 6pm PST.
