It was a defensive battle on New Year’s Eve with Oregon holding the edge and beating Nevada 56-43. Seniors Tony Woods and Carlos Emory led the way for the Ducks with 13 points each. Tony Woods in particular was a dominant force down low for Oregon. Dominic Artis also added 10 points.
Oregon was without the help of Arsalan Kazemi, who left the game late in the first half after catching an accidental elbow to the face from a team mate. The Ducks’ defense was the player of the game, holding the Wolf Pack to just 28.1% from the field. Nevada also went a porous 3-23 from behind the arc. Oregon extends it’s home winning streak to 10-0.
Next up, Oregon opens conference play against Oregon State on January 6th at 7 pm PST. You can watch the game on Fox Sports Network.
