Dontre Wilson Commits To Buckeyes

ESPN has reported that Dontre Wilson has switched his verbal committment from the Oregon Ducks to the Ohio St. Buckeyes.

Urban Meyer and other coaches wasted no time in extending their tentacles to Oregon recruits once word of Chip Kelly’s departure hit.  Several schools have been going after Oregon verbal commits, and going after them hard.  The Oregon coaching staff has prioritized circling the wagons and keeping the existing verbal recruits on board.

This development will not be a serious blow to the incoming Oregon class if coach Helfrich and the rest of the staff succeed in limiting damage control to this one flip.  If, however, we have more defections then the Ducks’ recruiting class could be in some trouble.

It would appear that Signing Day will have more tension for Oregon fans than we had anticipated.

Fishduck will continue to keep you informed of all developments before and after Signing Day.

I bare no ill will towards Dontre. He is a young man who influences easily and must make the hard choices himself. I would have liked to see him as heir apparent to DAT making incredible plays as a Duck. Good luck Mr. Wilson, see ya in the Rose Bowl as we heft the trophy.
    Go Ducks WTD

  • I’m not so worried about Dontre. I’m hoping Hunt comes over from CAL, I’m hoping we get a last minute guy from USC (one of their many DE’s or DT’s) and I’m hoping the Robinson twins stay. With Tyner and Marshall, I’m not worried.
