The Oregon Ducks pulled off a close one in overtime tonight, beating the Washington State Cougars 79-77.  It was a very close game in the 2nd period, after Oregon was down 18 points at one point in the first, and 11 points at halftime.

The key play of the game came with seconds left in overtime.  Washington State had just tied the game at 77, and after taking the inbounds pass, E.J. Singler was fouled by a Cougar for no apparent reason.  Singler proceeded to hit both free shots to put the Ducks ahead for good.

Singler led the Duck scorers with 25 points.  Carlos Emory added 20 with Damyean Dotson adding another 16. Arsalan Kazemi was his usual self, putting up 8 points and a whopping 12 boards.  Johnathan Loyd got in on the action with 7 assists.

Oregon was effective limiting the Cougs’ players, except for Royce Woolridge who burned the Ducks for 36 points.  Brock Motum added another 12 points. With this win, Oregon has swept both of the Washington teams this season and remains atop the conference.

Next up: Oregon takes on Cal in Matthew Knight Arena on February 21st.
