For the third straight game the Oregon Ducks came up short, losing to Colorado 48-47 and snapping their 20 game home winning streak. It is stunningly apparent that Oregon must have Dominic Artis back controlling the game if it doesn’t want to implode and lose out on a chance at the big dance. Oregon’s point guards combined for just 2 points and 2 assists, going 1-9 from the field.
Despite out-rebounding the Buffaloes 34-25 and leading the entire game – Colorado’s only lead of the night was when they scored their last bucket to get to 48 points – Oregon could not get it done. The Ducks are now 1-4 since losing Artis to a foot injury. There was a great battle between Arsalan Kazemi and Andre Roberson. Roberson went for 10 points, 13 boards, 1 assist, and 2 steals. Kazemi went for 6 points, 11 boards, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.
Roberson was the only Buffalo to score double digits, while E.J. Singler and Carlos Emory added 14 points apiece for the Ducks. With this Duck loss, Arizona now takes control of the conference and puts Oregon in a 3-way tie for second place.
Next up, Oregon takes on Utah in Matthew Knight Arena this Saturday, February 9th.
