It’s Time to Panic

There are times when a calm demeanor and patience help turn a team around.  Now is not that time.  The Duck basketball team lost its second straight game this week, being beaten by Cal.  They were crushed by Standford earlier this week, and the Ducks came out and struggled early and then again late in the Cal game.  There is a calm and rational explanation for this.

The Ducks’ starting point guard is still not on the court.  The logical explanation for the losing streak is that Dominic Artis missed his third game, and the Ducks miss the guy who runs their offense.  Makes sense, right?  Well, if I’ve learned anything from Chip Kelly, it’s that Erin Andrews is a girl worth defending.  Actually, Kelly taught us Duck fans that if you tell your guys it’s a team effort, then they play better as a team.

So what is Dana Altman to do?  Having guys looking around for a scapegoat or waiting for Artis’s return will mean more losses in winnable game.  He needs to hit the panic button, tell guys that now is not the time to wait for wins to fall in their lap.  The Ducks have the talent and coaching to win the Pac-12.  Somebody needs to remind them to play with urgency.

The Senior’s of this Team clearly need to pick it up, cause we won W/O a real good Point Guard last year and Singler couldn’t of picked a better time to play the worst BB of his career, and our Big Man Tony Wood’s, this is not the time to regress, as you should be dominating in the paint, and have you ever seen so many player’s in Division 1 BB miss so many lay up’s as this Team seem’s to do on a continuous level, it’s really appalling to watch the most basic shot that’s taught when children 1st learn to play BB. So all in all the Duck’s need to DOMINATE at Home and forget about not having Dominic right now, and play like a Team which was really Beautiful to watch this Team do better than any other Team in the Pac 12 this year. So let’s get back that dominant play and hopefully our Division 1 PG Johnny Lloyd can start hitting OPEN shot’s that opposing Team’s are letting him take or get the HELL off the court and go back Home, cause remember you are getting a free ride to go to School here, so shoot the Damn Ball throught the net.
