Oregon vs Colorado Preview

The Oregon Ducks will take on the Colorado Buffaloes tonight in Matthew Knight Arena.  Whether freshman Dominic Artis plays will be a game-time decision as he is still nursing a foot injury.  Oregon badly needs him back on the floor.  In the last three games, without Artis Oregon has surrendered 65 turnovers compared to a mere 24 assists and has gone 1-2 in conference play.

Both teams are almost identical in the rebounding stats with Oregon averaging 38.5 and Colorado averaging 38.3 boards per game.  If the Ducks can exploit this stat and out rebound the Buffs on our home court, all should be well.  Oregon really needs to get this win to get back on track after starting undefeated in conference play and dropping the last 2 games.

Much like Oregon, Colorado has four players averaging double-digit scoring.  This one will be a battle of the forwards; Colorado’s Andre Roberson is averaging 10.8 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game.  Oregon’s Arsalan Kazemi is averaging 8.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game.  With both players contributing so effectively in all phases of the game and putting up similar stats, it could come down to which player has a better game for his team.  Oregon will need the win to stay ranked in the top 25 and to stay tied for first place atop the Pac-12.

To watch the game, tune in to ESPNU at 7pm PST.
