The Colorado Buffaloes completed the sweep of Oregon tonight in a dominating 76-53 win. Colorado got it going early and never looked back. It is hard to take anything positive away from a game like this but I found three bright spots.
Those three spots have surprising names; Arsalan Kazemi, Johnathan Loyd, and Ben Carter. All players scored 10 points, the only players to break double digits. Kazemi added 6 boards, 1 assist, and 1 steal. Carter also added 6 boards and 2 steals while Loyd added 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. That is about all I can say went right for the Ducks tonight.
Oregon shot just 37.5% from the field, 16.7% from behind the arc, and a porous 40.9% from the free throw line. For comparison they allowed Colorado to shoot 48.1% from the field, 43.8% from behind the arc, and 79.2% from the free throw line. Colorado also out-rebounded the Ducks without the help from NCAA leading rebounder Andre Roberson.
This was a way for Oregon to clinch the number 1 spot in the Pac-12 tourney while guaranteeing a share of the conference title. Now Oregon looks to defeat Utah on the road to finish the season and hopefully tie for the conference lead.
Next up, Oregon takes on Utah on March 9th in Jon M. Huntsman Center.
