Oregon vs Colorado Preview

The Oregon Ducks take on the Colorado Buffaloes tonight in the Coors Event Center.  Oregon looks to avoid being swept by the Buffs, as they lost the last meeting on February 7th 48-47.  That was arguably Oregon’s worst played game of the season.  Oregon was up the entire game until the last 29 seconds in an extremely low scoring affair.

A huge difference for this game is that Oregon now has Dominic Artis back to control the flow of the game and hit shots from long range.  The only players to score double digits for the Ducks in the last meeting were E.J. Singler and Carlos Emory, who put up 14 points apiece, scoring more than half of the Ducks’ points.

If the Ducks want to win this one they will need strong contributions from the guard positions – something that was lacking last time.  They will also need to crash the boards and keep the fouls to a minimum.  Whether or not Damyean Dotson will play is also a question mark for Oregon, and this could change the outcome of the game.

This game and the next will be the most important games of the season.  Oregon is now tied with UCLA for the conference lead, and it doesn’t appear as though UCLA will lose in their last two games, so Oregon controls its own destiny in remaining at the top of the PAC-12.  Also, Oregon plays its last two games on the road.

To watch the game, tune in to ESPN2/WatchESPN at 6pm PST.
