Eugene, OR: On Friday the UCLA Bruins make their way up to PK Park to start a three-game series against the streaking Oregon Ducks. Oregon has won six straight games riding their offensive production, and they look to continue their success this weekend on their quest to reach the top of the PAC-12 standings.
Oregon’s offense has been dominant in conference play this year. As a team they have a combined batting average of .308, but most impressive are their nine home runs. Ryon Healy and Scott Heineman have each contributed three, while Mitchell Tolman, Brett Thomas and Josh Graham all have one apiece. This success at the plate has really propelled the team to the consistent winning they’ve achieved.
This week the Ducks will need all the offense they can get against a good UCLA pitching staff. The Bruins have been competitive all year and are sneaking up to the top on the PAC-12 standings as well. I think Ryon Healy will need to have a good offensive series and get the offense started for the Ducks to win the series. The rest of the offense feeds off his production and resiliency and when he has been successful, the team has been unstoppable.
