Women’s Golf Driving Toward Success

Oregon teams across the board have seen increasing success in recent years, with one team after another gaining realistic hopes of reaching a national title.  Football is the most popular, but others — baseball, basketball, softball, volleyball, and track and field — have exceeded recent expectations.  Another sport is starting to emerge and take its place among the elite: Women’s Golf.

The women’s golf team is headed to Valencia, California where they will compete against six of the top fifteen teams in the country.  Postseason play to start the PAC-12 championships begins Monday, and the team looks to improve its performance after finishing 14th in Tempe, Arizona last week.

Another splash they’ve made is the recent addition of Macella Pranovia for next fall.  Pranovia has finished in the top three in four tournaments, winning the Optimist International Junior Golf Championships.

It’s nice to see that the winning is contagious and everyone is on board to make success par for the course for yet another Duck team.
