EUGENE, Ore. – Freshman Cole Irvin has been named the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week after helping Oregon sweep Ohio State in a non-conference series last weekend.

Irvin tossed his second complete-game shutout of the season, scattering six hits and striking out seven batters in a 4-0 victory over Ohio State. The Yorba Linda, Calif. native issued one walk and allowed just one extra-base hit in the second game of a double-header in Columbus. It was the third complete game of the season for the talented freshman, whose 2.62 ERA ranks second on the team and 11th in the Conference. Irvin has pitched a team-high 92.0 innings with 47 strikeouts and 19 walks this season.

This is Irvin’s second Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week nod of the season. Duck pitchers have won the award seven times overall.
