Ducks 2014 schedule set

The PAC-12 Conference release the 2014 schedule this afternoon. Here are some of the highlights for the Ducks:

The Spring Game is Saturday May 3, 11:00 a.m. at Autzen Stadium, televised live on the PAC-12 Network.

Oregon opens with a home game against South Dakota on August 30th.

Rose Bowl and Big Ten Champion Michigan State comes to Autzen September 6th.

The Ducks host Wyoming and travel to Washington State before a bye on September 27th, and have a rematch with Arizona on October 2nd, this time in Eugene, a Thursday night game on ESPN.

Marcus Mariota and the Oregon offense will have 10 days to prepare for a Saturday October 11th showdown with South Division favorite UCLA. Quarterback Brett Hundley also passed up the NFL draft, so this should be a key confrontation in the PAC-12 race.

Homecoming is Saturday October 11th versus the Huskies, Chris Petersen's first appearance in Eugene as Husky coach. The Ducks will be going for their 11th win in a row over Washington, who have to replace Keith Price, who graduated, and Bishop Sankey and Austin Sefarian-Jenkins who left for the NFL.

The first-ever college football game in Levi's Stadium, the new home of the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara, California, matches Oregon against  the Bears, who suffered through a 1-11 season in Sonny Dyke's first year as head coach. It's a Friday night game on ESPN.

Stanford comes to Autzen November 1st in a matchup of preseason Top Five teams. The Cardinal have manhandled Oregon two seasons in a row, and it will be interesting to see if the Webfoots have more fight in them for the physical two-time conference champions this time around.

This season's trap game could be the November 8th matchup with Utah in Rice-Eccles Stadium, where Stanford fell this year.

The Ducks skip Arizona State and USC this season, two of the conference's best teams, and have Arizona, Stanford, Washington, and Michigan State all at home.

Oregon finishes the season with a home game against Colorado November 22nd (after another bye week) then OSU in the Civil War from Reser Stadium. The Beavers return quarterback Sean Mannion, who passed up the NFL despite a 3rd-4th round grade, but lost DE Scott Crichton and Biletnikoff Award winner Brandin Cooks, who opted for the draft.
