Today is the Pepsi Team Invitational and Oregon’s first home meet of the year. There are some great races and great line-ups; here are some to keep an eye on.
Men’s Javelin: Field includes 2014 NCAA Champion Sam Crouser from Oregon and NCAA Runner-Up Raymond Dykstra of Kentucky. Currently Crouser is leading the NCAA with a throw of 259-0 with Dykstra in second with a throw of 252-1.
Oregon men after winning another indoor national title
Men’s 1,500 Meters: This race will feature four sub-4 minute milers including two Ducks, Daniel Winn and Johnny Gregorek. Both of these men had great indoor seasons with Gregorek running on the DMR team that took home the national title and Winn placing 6th in the mile.
Men’s 5,000 Meters: This race will include both Edward Cheserek and Eric Jenkins. Each of them has come off an electrifying indoor season with Jenkins winning both the 3,000m and the 5,000m and Cheserek winning the mile and the distance medley relay.
Women’s Long Jump: Jenna Prandini, the NCAA indoor and outdoor long jump champion, will compete in the long jump today along with teammate Jasmine Todd who is a two-time indoor All-American.
Women’s 100 Meter Hurdles: Sasha Wallace, the school’s record holder, will go head to head against Kentucky’s Kendra Harrison who won the 60m hurdles last indoor season. Wallace also has a school record in the triple jump.
Women’s 200 Meters: The field includes NCAA 60 Hurdles Champion Kendra Harrison from Kentucky and Jasmine Todd, who is now a two-time All-American for the Ducks in the 60m dash.
