Information was released yesterday that the University of Oregon just signed one of ESPN’s top 100 recruits for the 2015-2016 men’s basketball season to a National Letter of Intent. According to an article on GoDucks.com, Men’s Basketball Signs Top 100 Recruit, Kendall Small from Anaheim, California will be a Duck soon.

The 6″ 170 pound point guard is an exciting recruit for the Duck men’s basketball team and head coach Dana Altman said, “It’s always nice when you can bring a player of Kendall’s caliber into your program.” Small’s stats for his junior season are very impressive and from what I can tell he is a very dedicated and hard worker. Just the kind of athletes we want as Ducks!

In his junior season Small had 21.1 points per game and averaged 5.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 3.4 steals per game. I took the liberty of searching Small on YouTube to see for myself what this young man is really about and let me tell you, he is about it. He is ranked 84th in ESPN’S Top-100 for the class of 2015 and is given four stars.

From the footage I have researched of Small’s play, he is quick and smart. He see’s the court well, leads his team and plays for his team. Not to mention he has a mean spin move that crosses up his opponents ankles on a regular basis. It’s not often that we see point guards that can drive to the hole the way Small does and I think the vibe that he will bring to the team next year will be good. Especially considering how many new faces the Ducks already have this year, if they can figure out their communication and chemistry with one another to run the ball well and play strong defense, they’ll be a far-more-feared team in the league.

The Ducks have an entire season ahead of them here — as does Small – which leaves so much room for everyone to improve their game. I can’t wait to see what this young recruit will contribute to Duck basketball next year.

New 2024 FishDuck Publishing Schedule….

During the off-season the FishDuck.com publishing schedule will consist of articles on Mondays and Tuesdays. Do keep checking as new articles could be published during the week when a writer has something to say.

In mid-August of 2024, we will go back to the seven-days-a-week of articles during the football season as we did in the football season of 2023.

The Our Beloved Ducks Forum (OBD) is where we we discuss the article above and many more topics, as it is so much easier in a message board format over there.  At the free OBD forum we will be posting Oregon Sports article links, the daily Press Releases from the Athletic Department and the news coming out every day.

Our 33 rules at the free OBD Forum can be summarized to this: 1) be polite and respectful, 2) do not tell anyone what to think, feel or write, and 3) no reference of any kind to politics. Easy-peasy!
