Visits

Fueled by Heisman-frontrunner Marcus Mariota, the Ducks rolled over hapless Wyoming, 48-14, in Autzen Stadium. In attendance was longtime Oregon-connected linebacker Mike Tafua (3-Star/Honolulu, HI) and per our friends at DuckTerritory, may be poised to flip a previously held commitment to BYU in favor of the Ducks.

Standing 6-foot-3, 225 lbs., Tafua is the hard-nosed, sideline-to-sideline defender the Ducks covet. No stranger to coming off his line to mix it up with opposing running backs, Tafua also makes short work of offenses who attempt to gain advantages in space.

Look for continued communication between Tafua and the Oregon brass as he plays out his senior season.

Interest

A more recent name to produce waves on Oregon’s radar, athlete Tevis Bartlett (3-Star/Cheyenne, WY) has confirmed he will be in Eugene on October 17. A do-it-all player from the mid-west, Bartlett has spent time all over the field but will most likely settle at linebacker when he makes the jump to college.

A stout 6-foot-4, 215 lbs., Bartlett still has room to gain weight and is an exceptional athlete who’s nimble enough to be an effective dual-threat quarterback at the prep level. Bartlett could be utilized in a myriad of ways and would easily create matchup problems if he was ever staffed with learning the Duck Blur in addition to defensive schemes.

Oregon’s Canadian connection was well documented in former linebacker Boseko Lokombo; now there’s a new target on the horizon. Northern-based Neville Gallimore (4-Star/St. Catherines, ONT/Rivals250) indicated that he will take an official visit to Oregon. Rapidly gaining steam in his recruitment, Gallimore noted that the Ducks are now in a very favorable echelon.

I’ve built a relationship with (Oregon) defensive coordinator Don Pellum,” said Gallimore. “He’s opened my eyes to a lot of things and I owe it to myself to check it out and see what it’s like.”

A trench warrior in every sense of the word, Gallimore’s 6-foot-3, 303 lb. frame is the kind of body-type that Oregon could turn super human once the big man spends time with Ducks speed guru Jim Radcliffe. While an official date has not been set in regards to a visit, Gallimore’s quickly developing recruiting rapport is cause for increasing optimism as Oregon is no stranger to make late-in-the-game moves, stay tuned!

New 2024 FishDuck Publishing Schedule….

During the off-season the FishDuck.com publishing schedule will consist of articles on Mondays and Tuesdays. Do keep checking as new articles could be published during the week when a writer has something to say.

In mid-August of 2024, we will go back to the seven-days-a-week of articles during the football season as we did in the football season of 2023.

The Our Beloved Ducks Forum (OBD) is where we we discuss the article above and many more topics, as it is so much easier in a message board format over there.  At the free OBD forum we will be posting Oregon Sports article links, the daily Press Releases from the Athletic Department and the news coming out every day.

Our 33 rules at the free OBD Forum can be summarized to this: 1) be polite and respectful, 2) do not tell anyone what to think, feel or write, and 3) no reference of any kind to politics. Easy-peasy!

OBD Forum members….we got your back.  No Trolls Allowed!
