Offers/Visits

During an official visit last weekend, top JUCO dual-threat passer Tanner McEvoy (4-Star/Oradell, NJ) received an offer to bolster Oregon’s quarterback depth. While not currently willing to commit, the Ducks appear to be the frontrunner to land the versatile southwest-based signal caller. With his stock rising and current quarterback Bryan Bennett’s possible switch to defense, expect a decision from the 6’6″, 200 lb. McEvoy to come to fruition in the near future.

Heading into Eugene at the end of the week, nationally touted tight end prospect Durham Smythe (3-Star/Belton, TX) will meet with Oregon coaches in an effort to gauge possible involvement in Chip Kelly’s Blur offense. “I like the fact that their offense is very fast-paced, which is something I’ve become familiar with through my high school,” said Smythe. “At the same time, they like to include a tight end in most of their spread sets which is unique in that scheme.” A sturdy 6’6″, 230 lbs., Smythe uses impressive physical strength to not only free himself up in space but effectively block for fellow receivers. Look for a program decision to come on or around National Signing Day (February 6th).

A pair of offensive tackles, Oregon commit Jake Pisarcik (2-Star/Medford, NJ) and Cameron Hunt (4-Star/Corona, CA) will also be on hand this upcoming weekend to take in the sights in and around Autzen Stadium. The 6’4″, 278 lb. Pisarcik, a relative unknown heading into his senior season, committed to the Ducks in December while the almost identically sized Hunt (6’4″, 267 lbs.) remains in limbo regarding his future.

News

Monday night, “southern smog” commit and longtime Oregon target Nico Falah (4-Star/Bellflower, CA/Rivals250) hosted Chip Kelly for an in-home visit. “He was flat out real and told me exactly what I wanted to hear. My parents absolutely loved him and said they wouldn’t mind me going to Oregon,” said Falah. “Oregon has always been a contender (to land me), but this visit certainly helped their chances.”

New 2024 FishDuck Publishing Schedule….

During the off-season the FishDuck.com publishing schedule will consist of articles on Mondays and Tuesdays. Do keep checking as new articles could be published during the week when a writer has something to say.

In mid-August of 2024, we will go back to the seven-days-a-week of articles during the football season as we did in the football season of 2023.

The Our Beloved Ducks Forum (OBD) is where we we discuss the article above and many more topics, as it is so much easier in a message board format over there.  At the free OBD forum we will be posting Oregon Sports article links, the daily Press Releases from the Athletic Department and the news coming out every day.

Our 33 rules at the free OBD Forum can be summarized to this: 1) be polite and respectful, 2) do not tell anyone what to think, feel or write, and 3) no reference of any kind to politics. Easy-peasy!

OBD Forum members….we got your back.  No Trolls Allowed!
