Commitments

Oregon pulled one of its greatest recruiting strokes in program history when top-ranked 2015 all-purpose back Taj Griffin (4-Star/Powder Springs, GA/Rivals100) announced that he will don Lightning Yellow and Thunder Green following his senior campaign.

Oregon was just it for me,” said Griffin.  ”I knew it was the place for me when I visited.  I loved the coaches, the facilities and everything about it.  The coaches showed me a lot of love and I just fell in love with the place.  I’m so happy to be a Duck.”

While current Oregon starters have taken their reps at TAZR, the running back/wide receiver hybrid position created by Chip Kelly, Griffin, a 5-foot-10, 175 lb. jack-of-all-trades has been clocked at a blazing 4.35/40 and could be the first true tweener in the Oregon Blur since De’Anthony Thomas.

Griffin’s attachment to the Oregon coaching staff has been a chief motivator in his recruitment and figures to play out into a successful signing come next February.

“That was a pretty big deal to me when coach Helfrich came out to see me (so early in the process),” said Griffin.  ”I was one of the first stops he made and that meant a lot to me.  It also impressed my parents and they love Oregon as well.”

Griffin will be in Eugene on May 3rd for Oregon’s “Salute the Troops” intersquad matchup and is believed to be finished with all other program visits.

News

Yesterday afternoon, point guard Kendall Small (4-Star/Lakewood, CA/Rivals150) announced a long-anticipated pledge to join the Ducks and gives Dana Altman his first verbal commit in the class of 2015.  Small, a relative unknown until his junior year, is known for his defense and his ability to facilitate an up-tempo scheme, both key facets of Altman’s mantra at Oregon.  Look for more information regarding Small’s commitment next week, WTD!!!

New 2024 FishDuck Publishing Schedule….

During the off-season the FishDuck.com publishing schedule will consist of articles on Mondays and Tuesdays. Do keep checking as new articles could be published during the week when a writer has something to say.

In mid-August of 2024, we will go back to the seven-days-a-week of articles during the football season as we did in the football season of 2023.

The Our Beloved Ducks Forum (OBD) is where we we discuss the article above and many more topics, as it is so much easier in a message board format over there.  At the free OBD forum we will be posting Oregon Sports article links, the daily Press Releases from the Athletic Department and the news coming out every day.

Our 33 rules at the free OBD Forum can be summarized to this: 1) be polite and respectful, 2) do not tell anyone what to think, feel or write, and 3) no reference of any kind to politics. Easy-peasy!

OBD Forum members….we got your back.  No Trolls Allowed!
