It’s almost here…
A mere 24 days separate us, the Duck Faithful, from our first pilgrimage to Autzen Stadium. Monday saw the opening of fall camp where storylines, both longstanding and newly exposed, will ever-increase our anticipation leading up to the 2012-13 season opener.
Apparently there’s a quarterback battle taking place? Where will veteran wideout Josh Huff fit into an offense that is rapidly surging? And where…does fellow route-runner BJ Kelley like to catch a bite to eat?! Football Recruiting
News/Visits
This past week, top running back Derrick Green (5-Star/Richmond, VA/Rivals#1-RatedRB), a recent standout at The Opening, whittled his potential program list to six. Green’s visit to the northwest for the Nike sponsored event may have given the Ducks an inside edge to land the 6’0″, 218 lb. super back as Oregon is the only west coast school in the hunt for his backfield prowess.
Bearing similarities to Duck legend Jonathan Stewart, the effort to bring Green’s physical yet fleet-footed style to Eugene will require due-diligence on the recruiting trail. “Coming out to see Oregon was great,” said Green in July. “Just to see the atmosphere and the people around here is great. It’s been great to see the area and get a feel for Oregon.”
As evidenced by heralded prospect and incoming freshman Arik Armstead’s choice to suit up for Defensive Coordinator Nick Aliotti, it’s not a long shot to deduce that Adams may have real interest in being a part of the second coming of Gang Green.
