Oregon’s recruiting trail endeavors appear to be paying off with two exciting announcements over the past week; vaunted small forward Semi Ojeleye (5-Star/Ottawa, KN/Rivals150) included the Ducks in his program shortlist, and top junior college center Waverly Austin (JC/Martinsville, VA) is said to be very close to moving cross country and suiting up for Head Coach Dana Altman this coming season.
Ojeleye’s pedigree and athleticism will make his transition into the college game an easy one. At 6’6″, 215 lbs., the high-flying dunker utilizes a solid inside game and deceptive jumpshot to take opponents out of their element. “From talking with Oregon head coach Dana Altman, he made it sound like I could have the offense run through me if I work hard,” said Ojeleye. We, The Duck Faithful, can expect to see Ojeleye sometime in the near future, as he will officially visit Oregon during the 2012-13 season.
A first-team JC All-American, Austin will have taken the road less traveled if he indeed dons one of Oregon’s many jerseys. Once a “third school in Florida” signee, Austin was barred from play due to academic credit transfer issues. According to reports, Oregon has been in serious talks to land the 6’11”, 275 lb. big man, and will make an all-out effort to bring Austin’s post presence to Eugene. Paired alongside current center Tony Woods, Oregon’s frontcourt in a single swoop, could jump into the ranks of the most physically imposing in the country.

On Monday, tabbed athlete twins Tyree and Tyrell Robinson (4-Star(s)/San Diego, CA/Rivals250) confirmed their intention to officially visit Oregon on September 8th. “We are very excited to make this trip to Oregon,” said Tyrell Robinson. “We definitely have our eye on Oregon and we are just real excited about getting up there for our first trip.”
The tandem makes no secret about their desire to excel both on the collegiate gridiron and hardwood, prompting Altman to personally host the brothers. “I think Coach (Dana) Altman is going to sit with us during the (Oregon football) game, and that will be a great chance to talk with him while watching the game. We are real excited about this opportunity to spend time with him.”
