Football Recruiting
News
Following a rumor-filled weekend, head coach Chip Kelly declined a move to the NFL and will return to Oregon for the foreseeable future. Subsequent recruiting storylines will intensify and likely resolve as Kelly & Co. move forward in Eugene. Reactions from preps were almost instantaneous as news of Kelly’s return trickled out. “It’s an amazing feeling knowing that I will be playing with a phenomenal coach,” said running back Thomas Tyner (5-Star/Beaverton, OR/Rivals#4RB). Echoing his sentiments was Dontre Wilson (4-Star/DeSoto, TX/Rivals250), “I’m solid to the Ducks and I can’t wait to win a natty next year and break some records.”
Visits
This coming Saturday, Oregon will host No.1-rated JUCO dual-threat quarterback Tanner McEvoy (4-Star/Yuma, AZ). In what some are perceiving as a clear indicator of an impending transfer by Bryan Bennett, McEvoy’s run-and-gun mentality and 6’6″, 200 lb. frame would make him an ideal backup for current headman Marcus Mariota.
