Local Southridge product, Jordan Morgan (2-Star/Beaverton, OR) is rapidly gaining popularity around the Oregon water cooler. If his spring is any indication, the 6-foot-3, 197-pound, wide receiver will be a contender to land an Oregon offer come camp season.

Oregon’s wide receiver coach Matt Lubick is also talking to me a on a daily basis now,” said Morgan. “We talk every day and he’s a really cool guy. He said they’re interested and that if I perform well at camp with their top guys there I will get an offer.”

A route-runner with speed to burn (4.5/40), Morgan’s ability to find space after the catch would set him up well to thrive in the Ducks’ offense. A big senior season will all but guarantee his signature on an Oregon LOI come signing day.

The Ducks are no stranger to tab athlete prospects who excel on both sides of the ball. Jack-of-all-trades J.T. Gray (3-Star/Coolidge, AZ) garnered an Oregon offer for his tenacious play in the secondary, but figures to have the opportunity to make an impact on offense.

Oregon said they are recruiting me for both sides of the ball,” said Gray. “They told me I can play safety or running back and it’s up to me. I think I prefer safety, but I want to compete for early playing time so I’ll do that wherever I can.”

A 6-foot-1, 180-pound speedster, Gray could wind up committing to Oregon before his senior season and will announce his decision directly after he ends his prep career.

Heading into 2014, defensive line figures to be a point of heavy interest as the Ducks look to reload after a number of senior departures. Defensive end Matt Dickerson (3-Star/San Mateo, CA) received one of Oregon’s latest offers and guaranteed new line coach Ron Aiken a visit sometime this summer.

Oregon said they saw my film and decided to offer about a week later,” said Dickerson. “It’s a great program with lots of history and they won another big bowl game last season. I definitely have a really high interest level in Oregon.”

Standing 6-foot-5 and weighing 275 pounds, Dickerson called the nod from Eugene a “game-changer” and could be easily one of Aiken’s biggest gets heading into next year.

For the Exciting 2024 Football Season….

We will be publishing between four and six articles per week during the football season, as we skip Saturdays with all the distraction of GameDay for us. Check through the week, and in particular check for Analysis articles on most Fridays.

The Our Beloved Ducks Forum (OBD) is where we we discuss the article above and many more topics, as it is so much easier in a message board format over there.  At the free OBD forum we will be posting Oregon Sports article links, the daily Press Releases from the Athletic Department and the news coming out every day.

Our 33 rules at the free OBD Forum can be summarized to this: 1) be polite and respectful, 2) do not tell anyone what to think, feel or write, and 3) no reference of any kind to politics. Easy-peasy!

OBD Forum members….we got your back.  No Trolls Allowed!
