Depth on the perimeter has been a subtle surprise around the fall camp cooler with former top-rated recruits Darren Carrington, Jalen Brown and newcomers Malik Lovette and Alex Ofodile grabbing headlines.
It would appear that a once-overlooked skill position is slowly molding Oregon’s recruiting profile, a nuance that is paying off with interest from the best the country has to offer.
Sin City-based route-runner Tyjon Lindsey (4-Star/Las Vegas, Nev./Rivals100) may only be a junior, but is already considered by many to be college-ready and plays eerily close to another Duck of recent memory.
“I definitely model my game after De’Anthony Thomas – that’s a guy I really look up to.”
At 5’9″, 175 lbs., Lindsey shares Thomas’s stature in addition to impeccable field vision and cut-ability.
“Oregon will be forever in my top group. I love the offense they run and the winning tradition.”
Lindsey has already narrowed his field of top programs to three and could decide on a final destination as early as this year. Stay tuned!
Despite some recent de-commitment woes, Oregon’s pull on recruits remains at an all-time high with preps chomping at the bit as soon as recruiting movement takes place.
West Coaster Jordan Parker (4-Star/Pittsburg, Cali.) has been keeping communication lines open with secondary headman John Neal despite the absence of an offer. It now appears that his persistence will pay off as an Oregon nod is almost assuredly on the way.
“I definitely want that Oregon offer,” said Parker. “I’m just waiting on them right now. They told me they are trying to juggle around the numbers to see where things are at. An offer from Oregon will put them in that top group.”
Standing 5’11”, 184 lbs., Parker is slated to spend time both at receiver and corner during his final prep season before heading into a more defined role at the next level.
“I would definitely visit Oregon if that is in the cards. I’m just waiting to hear from them.”
An offer from Neal and a successful subsequent visit will place Oregon in the driver’s seat heading into the twilight of Parker’s recruitment. Stay tuned!
