“We’re running a new defense? How come I haven’t heard of this before?”
I could scarcely believe my ears as I spoke to Casey Matthew’s father, Clay Matthews Sr. on the sidelines during the 2010 Spring Drills.
I followed all the newspapers and multiple Oregon football websites and this was the first I had learned of it! Many of you now recall how I did extensive homework after that conversation and created the first official announcement and explanation of Oregon’s new (at that time) 3-4 Defense in the summer of 2010. We have those original articles that I wrote and posted on multiple Oregon websites about a year before FishDuck.com began. They are in the new Defensive Tutorial section of the Directory on FishDuck.com.
