Basketball Recruiting
News
With Oregon set to begin its tournament run this coming Thursday, west-coast big man and prized Duck target Aaron Gordon (5-Star/San Jose, CA/Rivals150) quietly set his announcement date for April 3rd at the McDonald’s All-American Game. The 6’8″, 205 lb. low post behemoth re-added the Ducks late in the recruiting cycle and is now thought to be heavily scrutinizing Oregon’s postseason play. A close knit friendship with current point guard Dominic Artis and almost a guaranteed starting spot this coming season would seem to give Oregon a very favorable chance to land who some are calling the best Bay Area high school prospect of all time, so stay tuned!

Commitments
By now most of We, The Duck Faithful have learned the name Jordan Hoiem (4-Star/Wailuku, HI). As Oregon’s first commitment in the 2014 class, Hoiem is a tremendous get on the defensive side of the ball. “I got a message to call coach (Nick) Aliotti so I caught him just before he started dinner,” said Hoeim. “He talked to me for a few minutes then asked me how I’d feel if he offered me a scholarship. I didn’t hesitate; I told him he has my word I’ll be signing with him in February. That’s been my dream school and it was an easy decision to make. I’m so excited right now I can’t even describe it.”
At 6’4″, 210 lbs., linebackers coach Don Pellum and newly appointed defensive line headmen Ron Aiken have the potential to mold Hoiem as a drop end tasked with pass coverage assignments to go along with quarterback disruption.
News
Running backs coach Gary Campbell is primed to pluck another southwest running back, 5’10”, 201 lb. runner Vic Enwere (NR/Missouri City, TX). “I have a pretty good relationship with coach (Gary) Campbell,” said Enwere. “We have been talking for a while pretty often. I like what he is telling me and what I know about the (Oregon) offense. They definitely know how to run the ball.”
Off the field, Enwere is equally as serious about his academics. “Coaches tell me a lot of things but I hear a lot about my character; which is great to hear they respect me as more than just a football player.”
