Just when you thought the Oregon/Snoop Dog connection couldn’t get any stronger, son Cordell Broadus (4-Star/Diamond Bar, CA) announced that he may make an appearance in Eugene this coming October.
“I might be going up to Oregon this season,” said Broadus. “Oregon came by the school this spring and told me they really like me. They told me to expect an offer from them.”
Broadus counts a close friendship with current Ducks do-it-all De’Anthony Thomas as a chief motivating factor to give Oregon a long, hard look.
“De’Anthony is like my brother,” said Broadus. “I could easily follow in his footsteps up there and continue the success.”
Tabbed a wide receiver at the next level, Broadus doubles as a defensive back in certain coverage schemes. Using a 6’2, 180 lb. frame that is surprisingly difficult to bring down, Broadus makes quick work of opposing players who opt to face him in single coverage. Expect his friendship with Thomas and Oregon’s IT-factor to play a heavy role in his recruitment this fall – stay tuned!
“I talk to coach (Scott) Frost and Coach (Mark) Helfrich a lot and they keep in the loop on what’s going on,” said White.
The 6’2, 180 lb. pro-style quarterback has a knack for building off less-than-conventional plays, an attribute coveted in the Oregon Blur.
“We run the spread and read option, and we air it out pretty good. I’m comfortable under center and in the gun, so I can play in any offense.”
White is considered an Oregon lean after a successful showing at a Eugene-based camp and plans take in the sights in and around campus in mid-September.

Commitments
Dana Altman continues to bolster his latest roster with another guard from the transfer wire. Great Lakes-based John Calliste (NR/Scarborough, ON) will join Oregon this upcoming winter and is eligible to suit up immediately for the Lightning Yellow and Thunder Green. Last season, Calliste averaged 14.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists per contest. Expect Calliste to challenge for a backup role behind Duck tandem Dominic Artis and Damyean Dotson this coming campaign. (To view Calliste highlights, please click here.)

Super-prep Joe Burton (4-Star/Humble, TX/Rivals150) is the latest southwest prep to draw attention from Eugene.
“Oregon is actually coming after really hard right now,” said Burton. ”Dana Altman actually just called me to speak with me and my parents and just check in to see how things are going for me. I am very interested in the Oregon Ducks.”
At 6’5, 205 lbs., Burton spends most of his time as a small forward where his anticipation and quick reads make for quick buckets in the paint. As a friend of the aforementioned Dotson, Burton was quick to notice the quality of Oregon’s coaches.
“I don’t know what it is, but they are just different — in a good way.”
Expect Burton to visit Altman & Co. sometime in the fall before turning his attention toward his final prep season.
