Grasu Appears to be Back

Coming into the season, the Ducks appeared to have one of the best offensive lines in the country. Before the season even started, projected starting left tackle Tyler Johnstone underwent double knee surgery ruling him out for the entire year. During the season, starters Jake FisherAndre Yruretagoyena and Hroniss Grasu all suffered various injuries that kept them out for an extended period of time. With Fisher and Yruretagoyena firmly back and ready to play, fans and players have been wondering about Grasu’s status. As reported by Rob Moseley of goducks.com yesterday, Grasu appears to be back and ready to roll against Florida State.

Many people were wondering whether or not Grasu would be able to make it back for this game. He was initially injured in the Utah game, and it was reported that he might be able to make it back before the end of the season. Unfortunately, the lower leg injury caused Grasu to miss the last three games, including the Pac-12 championship game against Arizona.

What does this mean?

With Grasu back in the mix, the offensive line gets a major lift in veteran experience. Grasu has been around for a long time, and against a tough defense like the Seminoles, having an experienced center to work with Heisman winner Marcus Mariota will most certainly help. This also means that normal left guard Hamani Stevens can move back to that position, as he no longer has to fill in at center. With the exception of Pharaoh Brown, the Ducks now have everyone back on offense.

For the Exciting 2024 Football Season….

We will be publishing between four and six articles per week during the football season, as we skip Saturdays with all the distraction of GameDay for us. Check through the week, and in particular check for Analysis articles on most Fridays.

The Our Beloved Ducks Forum (OBD) is where we we discuss the article above and many more topics, as it is so much easier in a message board format over there.  At the free OBD forum we will be posting Oregon Sports article links, the daily Press Releases from the Athletic Department and the news coming out every day.

Our 33 rules at the free OBD Forum can be summarized to this: 1) be polite and respectful, 2) do not tell anyone what to think, feel or write, and 3) no reference of any kind to politics. Easy-peasy!

OBD Forum members….we got your back.  No Trolls Allowed!
