* Is a required field, and those without * are optional. (But we encourage you to fill them out to help us serve you)
–Your User Name and password is what you will sign-in, or log-in with going forward. This User Name is the “Handle” that identifies for everyone as to “who” your posts are written by and will know you by on the site. I encourage everyone to use a handle when posting, instead of your actual name. It is a prudent way to stay safe in today’s unusual environment.
–Your actual name is optional, and will not be shown to anyone on the site or anywhere, but is handy in my (Mr. FishDuck) communications to you.
As explained above, the confirmation email will have a link to your own FishDuck Account Page that you will want to save, and make your quick choice of display name when you post a comment. (See the two-click directions in confirmation email) Easy Peasy!
–A phone number is optional, but is handy if we want to discuss a comment or get your feedback about changes on the site. (Mr. FishDuck has the phone numbers or emails of thousands of people associated with the site, the occasional newsletter list and YouTube channel over nearly nine years and has never shared that information with anyone or anything. We live by the Golden Rule!)
–Tell us about your journey as a Duck in the biographical information. See a bio below an article for an example; keep it clean while having fun with it as we all have interesting stories. (Or come back to this later)
–By registering, you are acknowledging that you have read our posting rules and will follow them. What we have achieved in this community was said to be an impossible goal in the early days, because unlike every other site in the world… people are nice to each other at FishDuck. (like nowhere else!)
How will you fit in here? It is simple; all our rules can be summarized to this: 1) be polite and respectful, 2) keep it clean for the grandchildren reading, and 3) no reference to politics. Easy Peasy!
These rules are what have made this site a GREEN REFUGE from the real world, where we can discuss Our Beloved Ducks in peace and civility. This is a very special community that has extraordinary discussions, so jump in as the water is fine for all Ducks! We want all opinions across the spectrum as this is the only safe place to discuss them, and by reading all the different perspectives–we learn from each other and become better fans. It has worked for over two years now, as there is no site like FishDuck!
