With super conferences taking over college football, any semblance of a balanced schedule among teams in the same conference is out the window. Equally important, one lesson from the first year of the 12-team College Football Playoff is that winning is more important than playing a tough schedule. Therefore, it’s pertinent to ask whether Oregon has an advantageous schedule in 2025 that could help the Ducks get back to the CFP.
This point in the offseason seems as good a time as any to take a closer look at Oregon’s schedule in 2025. If you want to get away from football for a bit, you could explore some of the UK’s top online casinos to enjoy fun and games. But if you’re focused on football, we have broken down Oregon’s 2025 football schedule.
Home Conference Games
In theory, these are all games Oregon should win. Since the start of the 2019 season, the Ducks have suffered just one home loss. Plus, Oregon’s four home conference opponents shouldn’t give the Ducks too much trouble. On paper, Indiana might be the toughest task after the Hoosiers made the CFP last season. However, replicating that success will be tough, especially with a new quarterback in Bloomington.

Home games with Minnesota and Wisconsin should also be games in which the Ducks are heavily favored. The Golden Gophers could prove tricky, but they can’t match Oregon’s talent level. Likewise, Wisconsin has a lot of work to do after failing to qualify for a bowl last season. Finally, the Ducks clash with former Pac-12 rival USC. Of course, the Trojans are facing a lot of questions after a disappointing 7-6 campaign in 2024. They also haven’t won in Eugene since 2011.
Road Conference Games
With five road conference games, four of which require a time-zone change, the Ducks could face some challenges away from home this season. A September 27 trip to Penn State will undoubtedly be Oregon’s toughest game. The Nittany Lions nearly reached the national title game last season and have the pieces to make a similar run this season.
Oregon’s road schedule also includes trips to Northwestern and Rutgers. Other than the travel required, neither game should be problematic for the Ducks. Of course, the same can’t be said of a November 8 trip to Iowa. While not an elite team, the Hawkeyes have the type of defense that can give any team fits. Finally, the Ducks conclude their regular season with the short trip to Seattle to face Washington.
Oregon has lost three of its last four head-to-head games against its border rival. However, the Huskies have some rebuilding to do, giving the Ducks a clear talent advantage in this matchup.

Non-Conference Games
The Ducks should have no problem going 3-0 in their non-conference games in 2025, especially with all three games coming at home. Of course, the highlight of Oregon’s non-conference schedule is the in-state battle with Oregon State. While the Beavers have won three of the last nine head-to-head meetings, they are coming off a lackluster 5-7 season. Plus, Oregon State hasn’t won in Eugene since 2007.
Finally, Oregon’s first two games of the season will come against Montana State, an FCS opponent, and Oklahoma State, a program coming off a 3-9 season and a last-place finish in the Big 12. Those two games should serve as warm-up games for the Ducks before the start of Big Ten play.
Final Impressions
Overall, Oregon undoubtedly has a favorable schedule in 2025. Other than a road game against Penn State, the Ducks avoid most of the top teams in the Big Ten. Outside of perhaps road games with Iowa and Washington, there aren’t many games other than the trip to Penn State that should trip up the Ducks. That should set up the Ducks for another good year and another trip to the College Football Playoff.
