As our Oregon football program prepares for its fifth season under head coach Dan Lanning, projected win totals for all Power Four conferences are officially out. Oregon stands today at 10.5 wins as their betting line, joining Indiana as the favorites to go to the conference championship for their second time since joining the B1G. Ohio State sits at a game behind Oregon and Indiana with 9.5 games as their betting line, the same line that Penn State has due to a weak schedule (dodging Ohio State, Oregon, and Indiana).
Our Mr. FishDuck paused from his gaming fun at bilinmeyen casino siteleri to voice his objections to some of these betting lines. He felt that online casinos made more sense at times than these estimates, and he put them right up there with the wisdom of the Playoff Committee decisions.
At the time of writing this, no SEC team has a double-digit line, as 9.5 seems to be the peak for even the best programs (Georgia, Alabama, LSU, etc.). I expect that will change before the season starts, and Oregon’s may even drop to 9.5, since their CFP odds are currently fifth in the nation.

This year’s Spring Game should be absolute cinema for Dante and co.

Oregon’s 10.5-Point Line: Take the Over
Do you really see this team losing two regular-season games this year? They’ve only lost to teams that have made or won the National Championship since 2023. They even recruited better this year than last year.
With how this roster has been constructed and all the returning talent the Ducks have from last season, I have much higher expectations of 2026’s team than 2025’s team. Dante Moore overachieved in his first season starting, and this looks like the year he could bring home the Heisman Trophy to the tune of a near-perfect regular season. The entire defensive line is back, as well as superstar wideout Evan Stewart after missing the entire 2025-2026 season.
This team not only reloaded by recruiting top-tier talent that can contribute right away, but they also retained the most important pieces they needed to repeat as a legitimate College Football Playoff contender. That doesn’t sound like a Lanning squad that’s going to drop multiple games, especially with Moore back at QB1.

The onside kick hear around the world. I imagine similar antics in this year’s matchup with Ohio State in Columbus

My Regular Season Prediction for Oregon Football: 11-1
It’s pretty simple. Oregon’s going to dominate most of their matchups this year and win close on some tougher opponents. I don’t think USC keeps it close this year, and they get run out of the Coliseum on Sept. 26th. Ohio State marks the start of the Ducks’ rough stretch, where Oregon will need to win on the road in Columbus and at home against the Wolverines before closing out in Lansing and at home against the Huskies. I say they split those OSU/Michigan games 1-1, losing to the Buckeyes in the regular season before beating them in the College Football Playoff.
Michigan could pose a real threat with Kyle Whittingham taking over the program, as he gave Oregon a real run on numerous occasions with his perennially great PAC-12 Utah teams. This time around, Oregon should get the best of him, closing out their regular season 11-1 on a three-game win streak.
Now, is 12-0 possible? Absolutely. I can see myself flipping to an undefeated season projection before August, and I almost want to now. However, losing a game can be really good for some teams, and this is certainly an experienced enough roster that would respond emphatically after dropping a game to one of their new conference rivals.
Speaking of rivals, imagine if this team goes undefeated until they play Washington. Can you imagine the fire that a loss to the Huskies would ignite entering the postseason? See 2024-2025 Ohio State after losing to a vastly inferior Michigan team in Columbus. While I would never project it, I could see that being the catalyst that pushes the Ducks to the promised land in 2026. Going 16-0 would be cool too.
What do you think? Is 10.5 a good line for the Ducks to be sitting at right now? Do you see them beating that total, or hovering right around it this season? How do you feel a regular-season loss would impact this particular Lanning team? Let us know here in the FishDuck Forum with decorum.

On any given Saturday, expect to find him doing martial arts, playing the guitar, or screaming at the tv over a missed holding penalty.
