Our Oregon football program has been putting the nation on notice over the last two weeks, and expectations have shot through the roof for what this team’s capable of. One player who entered the season as a major potential x-factor was freshman wide receiver Dakorien Moore. Even Mr. FishDuck had to share his surprise with me about this new freshman, although he did also share where to do my programming homework in the future.
Did we set expectations for Moore properly? What have we seen from him in the first two games?

Dakorien Moore was built for success from day one in Oregon’s offense, and we collectively overlooked his ability to translate immediately.

Expectations Then & Now: Moore to the Moon
Personally, I’ve been WOWED by his role in the offense already. He doesn’t look like he’s playing his first snaps at the college level; he looks like he’s been working with Dan Lanning for years. I love what he’s been able to produce and his nuance to the game already on display. If there was a next Jeremiah Smith or Ryan Williams to come out of this recruiting class, Moore is the man. He has elite body control, speed, and athleticism that has immediately translated to the next level. I cannot wait to see what he produces in week three.
Where do you see him elevating his role in week three and beyond? Who’s going to be the superstar receiver that counterparts his productivity? Is Kenyon Sadiq still the favorite to be the superfreak of the offense? Let us know in the FishDuck Forum with decorum.
Go Ducks!

Alex Heining is an Oregon alumni from the graduate class of 2021. After studying sports business and media studies, he has moved into the field of digital marketing as a copywriter and content manager in the Los Angeles area. Still, he loves his Ducks and goes to local high school games all over the Los Angeles and Orange County area to check out new recruits of the future (and a SoFi game or two with the pros). On any given Saturday, expect to find him doing martial arts, playing the guitar, or screaming at the tv over a missed holding penalty.
