Holy Crap! Kayvon Thibodeaux, No. 1 Recruit is a DUCK!

Charles Fischer, Mr. FishDuck Announcements

Mario Cristobal continues achieve things never done at Oregon before with the verbal commitment today  of the nation’s No. 1 rated recruit in the nation Kayvon Thibodeaux from Southern California. He is a rush-defensive end at 6’5″ and 230 lbs. and is known for extraordinary speed. Sorry guys…I can hardly write as I’m a babbling mass of protoplasm right now as I can hardly believe it.

Kayvon Thibodeaux

The announcement was on ESPN at close to 1:00 PM and even the sportscasters admitted that when Alabama is one of the two finalists–it is hard to imagine a player going anywhere else. “Thibs” tweeted after the Washington game, “I’m going to shock the World” after he visited, and recently tweeted the same line, which raised a lot of eyebrows and gave us Oregon fans hope.

My friends, Coach Cristobal has the biggest recruiting weekend of the year going on right now with 15 commits and five-six prospects and their parents on the Oregon campus to generate massive momentum going into the signing day this Wednesday. I cannot imagine the thunder that took place in the Cas Center as Kayvon made his announcement!

The impact on this class and future classes is immeasurable; if the No. 1 (and our first 5-Star player in a long time) will come here, then perhaps others will realize this is a destination for the future?

Tell what you think in the comments about the impact in the short and long term, this class and anything else you can sanely keyboard. (Yep…it is hard for me too!)

What a watershed event for the football team!

For the Exciting 2024 Football Season….

We will be publishing between four and six articles per week during the football season, as we skip Saturdays with all the distraction of GameDay for us. Check through the week, and in particular check for Analysis articles on most Fridays.

The Our Beloved Ducks Forum (OBD) is where we we discuss the article above and many more topics, as it is so much easier in a message board format over there.  At the free OBD forum we will be posting Oregon Sports article links, the daily Press Releases from the Athletic Department and the news coming out every day.

Our 33 rules at the free OBD Forum can be summarized to this: 1) be polite and respectful, 2) do not tell anyone what to think, feel or write, and 3) no reference of any kind to politics. Easy-peasy!

OBD Forum members….we got your back.  No Trolls Allowed!
