I Am Thankful For FishDuck: Are YOU?

David Marsh Editorials

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and it is a time to be thankful for so many things. Personally, I am thankful for this site, FishDuck.com, and the FishDuck Forum as it has become a wonderful outlet for me to talk all things Ducks with a group of people who are polite, and have their own thoughts on Our Beloved Ducks.

My family is also thankful for FishDuck because I have an outlet to discuss my obsession with people who actually care. In many ways it makes my marriage work, and my family can tolerate my Duck obsession because they don’t have to deal with me talking about it all the time. Instead I write articles you read here, and discuss the various topics on the forum.

I am thankful for all the volunteers that put in their spare time to help this community. On the forum, the moderators take the time to actually read all the posts and enforce the rules so we have a truly troll free green refuge to discuss the Ducks.

I am thankful for all the editors at FishDuck. A big shout out to Bob Rhodes, Andrew Mueller and Natalie Liebhaber who have done an incredible job editing the work for all of us writers. I know personally they have all made my writing better, and made me look much smarter than I actually am. These articles wouldn’t be anywhere near the quality they are without them volunteering their time and expertise.

I personally started writing for FishDuck in the summer of 2020 and I have written over a hundred articles on this website. I am beyond thankful for Charles “Mr. FishDuck” Fischer because he given me the opportunity to write for this website, and have a platform to publish and present my ideas to a wider audience.

However, none of this is free and Charles has put so much of his time, blood, sweat, tears and even personal money into this project of love.

Those pictures you see in the articles all cost money, along with hosting the servers for both websites, and paying for some custom programming to ensure the FishDuck Forum is one of the best forums for Duck fans to engage in. The ad revenue helps, but Charles has calculated that the sites only make a little less than two cents per visit; it helps to cover a good portion of the overall cost, but not everything.

So this holiday season if you are able to give back to this unique and wonderful Oregon Duck community please donate at the bottom of this page, (On the “Donate” button) so we can keep the doors open for this wonderful community where all Duck fans are welcome. If you cannot donate financially, but you are willing do donate some of your time, then please reach out to charles@fishduck.com as they need help with some 20 minute slots during the day for quick posting of articles.

This is a wonderful community, and it is a joy to continue to watch it grow. I am thankful for you all.

Go Ducks!

For the Exciting 2024 Football Season….

We will be publishing between four and six articles per week during the football season, as we skip Saturdays with all the distraction of GameDay for us. Check through the week, and in particular check for Analysis articles on most Fridays.

The Our Beloved Ducks Forum (OBD) is where we we discuss the article above and many more topics, as it is so much easier in a message board format over there.  At the free OBD forum we will be posting Oregon Sports article links, the daily Press Releases from the Athletic Department and the news coming out every day.

Our 33 rules at the free OBD Forum can be summarized to this: 1) be polite and respectful, 2) do not tell anyone what to think, feel or write, and 3) no reference of any kind to politics. Easy-peasy!

OBD Forum members….we got your back.  No Trolls Allowed!
