Video and Text Analysis Published: Unknown
My friends, this is the most basic play in the Oregon Spread Offense, and the first instructional video I created in the summer of 2011. We have the actual video, and below that is a text/screenshot explanation of one of most popular instructional football videos ever made. A MUST for all fans and coaches….

Text and GIF Analysis Published 11-26-2013
In the past two years I have noticed a new movement taking place in the backfield that at first I identified as a new “Universal Formation,” and now with new, up-close footage, we can better determine the part it plays in our offensive attack. We see the new version of the “Inside Zone Read!”
–-7. Oregon Devises an Inside Zone Read “Counter” Play!
http://fishduck.com/2013/11/oregon-devises-an-inside-zone-read-counter-play/
Text and GIF Analysis Published 11-19-2013
How many times after this last game did you hear media sources other than FishDuck.com declare that, “the Ducks limited Mariota’s running opportunities.” Or “the Inside Zone Read play is bottled up!” Let’s take a look at those concepts and especially address the new Inside Zone Read “Counter” play introduced against Utah!
–-8. Chip Kelly’s “No-Read” Inside Zone Play
http://fishduck.com/2013/01/chip-kellys-no-read-inside-zone-play/
Text Analysis Published 1-15-2013
It seems that sometimes we are not reading or optioning anyone, yet the results on these plays are often quite productive. The old-school Inside Zone play is a staple of most football teams, and it appears that Chip pulled this old gem out of the playbook to help defeat Kansas State in the Fiesta Bowl.

Video Analysis Published 11-07-0211
Oregon shows another wrinkle of the Inside Zone Read to secure the defense to the inside, while adding a twist to going outside. This really worked well for a first time in game-speed! Directory 2.0, IZR Derivative, STO, OZR

http://fishduck.com/2013/09/the-philadelphia-eagleoregon-inside-zone-read-variation/
Text Analysis Published 9-24-2013
One of the core philosophies behind the Kelly offense is to be able to do several things with the same formation and play. The Inside Zone Read still appears to be a staple in the offense, but we have noted that it already takes on a few different forms early in the Philadelphia season.
–-11. How Oregon Protects Mariota with New Play Variations!
http://fishduck.com/2013/12/how-oregon-protects-mariota-with-new-play-variations/
Text and GIF Analysis Published 12-10-2013
Marcus Mariota ran for a couple of first downs and pulled the ball in some Mid-Level Zone Reads. However, the majority of plays were NOT using the Zone Read by design; how much DID Oregon change their offense? How much was a blend between the “new” plays and the very old? This article will answer some questions for all of us! (Inside Zone Read, Outside Zone Read, Straddled Triple Option Derivatives)
–12. Oregon Spread Offense Tutorial #2: The Outside Zone Read

http://fishduck.com/2011/11/fish-report-zone-read-altered/
Video Analysis Published 11-21-2011
It wasn’t until analyzing in DVR slow motion that I could see an unusual challenge thrown at USC that benefited us at the same time! We are also witnessing a transformation of backfield formations that will confound future adversaries and begs us to see what opposing coaches will contend with.

Video and Text Analysis Published 9-10-2013
In this second game of 2013, we see three things of note: the return of a major play in the Oregon attack, the disappointment in the results of another foundation play for the Duck offense and an amusing twist seen but once in last year’s offense. (Outside Zone Read and Sweep Read featured)

http://fishduck.com/the-chip-kelly-oregon-spread-offense-analysis/understanding-the-oregon-offense/a-fish-video-tutorial-the-power-play/
Video Analysis, published as a page on the site.
This is another one of the major plays at Oregon, as well as most all college football offenses and is a MUST for all to learn from. In this playbook we have some cool variations of this play to follow from this base understanding.
–-19. Oregon’s Newly Revised POWER PLAY With Bang, Bend and Bounce RB Techniques!
http://fishduck.com/2015/09/oregons-newly-revised-power-play-with-bounce-bend-and-bang-rb-techniques/
Text and GIF Analysis Published 9-08-2015\
The Power Play for Oregon has been revised under coach Mark Helfrich, but it remains one of the foundational plays of the Oregon Offense. A key aspect for Oregon is the redundancy inherently built into the Power Play as part of the overall Ducks offense. The steps and the decisions are the same for the RB as the Inside Zone Read. This increases the difficulty for the defense to identify what is coming at them, because both plays look similar, but are blocked differently. (A FUNDAMENTAL analysis for both coaches and fans; Oregon Spread Offense playbook) Directory 7.2

–-21. Oregon Surprises ASU with a New Power Read Play!
http://fishduck.com/2012/10/oregon-surprises-asu-with-a-new-power-read-play/
Text Analysis Published 10-23-2012
The “Power Read” has power blocking from the pulling guard, a threat of a Bubble pass at the top of the screen that stretches the defense, and the “read” factor that can slice up a secondary with a mobile QB who can outrun defenders.
–-22. An Oregon Innovation: the Quarterback Power Play!
http://fishduck.com/2015/09/an-oregon-innovation-the-quarterback-power/
Text and GIF Analysis Published 9-15-2015
The Oregon game plan featured a new play variation of the new Oregon Power Play featured last week: a Quarterback Power Play. I especially like how the Ducks can run this play anytime without tipping off where they are going to attack. It is a wonderful addition to the deep Oregon’s Spread Offense playbook!
–-23. Ducks get Physical with the Power Play vs. Spartans
http://fishduck.com/2014/09/ducks-get-physical-with-the-power-play-vs-spartans/
Text and GIF Analysis Published 9-09-2014
One of the foundation plays of the Oregon Spread offense is re-examined, but Coach Frost threw in a new variation of the Power Play for us to marvel at. Another surprise for Coach Cam Pettus in Illinois (who was consulting on this analysis with me) was the impact on the play by what appears to be a peripheral player. Interesting things to learn and contemplate!

–-26. Oregon Ran Sucker Plays on USC?
http://fishduck.com/2013/05/oregon-ran-sucker-plays-on-usc/
Text Analysis Published 5-28-2013
That is a bit provocative of a title, but what if it was true? Did Oregon hammer USC so badly with the running game in the past that it set up Southern Cal for their own Trojan horses? (It WAS true…) (Power Play)
–27. Oregon Spread Offense Tutorial #4: The Straddled Triple Option
http://fishduck.com/the-chip-kelly-oregon-spread-offense-analysis/understanding-the-oregon-offense/a-fish-video-tutorial-oregon-straddled-triple-option/
Video Analysis, published as a page on the site.
This is such a unique play that is both an option play, but yet attacks both directions of the defense. A wonderful fundamental play in the offense that also has some nasty variations that come from this base play in the Oregon Spread Offense.
–-28. Oregon’s Enhanced Straddled Triple Option Play
http://fishduck.com/2013/10/oregons-enhanced-straddled-triple-option-play/

–35. Oregon Spread Offense Tutorial #5: Oregon’s New “Sweep Read”
http://fishduck.com/2011/11/fish-report-oregons-sweep-read/
Video Analysis Published 11-28-2011
This week I have to announce some bad news and good news regarding a play on offense. I have been wrong in my analysis of it over this season, but the good news is that we are treated to something unique that the rest of the nation does not have on offense. Thus by learning of my error we also learn about Oregon’s new “Sweep Read” play.
